Be Yourself - Oddly Sweet Curiosities

Another cutie from SCACD or Quixotic Paperie whichever is easier for you.  This little Oddly Sweet Curiosities is for another friend of mine who in my mind is a huge success.  She had a long and successful career; has two wonderful children (grown); and she and her husband after 40 some years of marriage are still like a couple of goofy teenagers in love ... does my heart good!  Lynda is a lady and is now enjoying her retirement to the max.  Her whole life is a success.

Dance Like No One Is Watching - Oddly Sweet Curiosities

I just love these little "monsters" from SCACD -- unfortunately though Susana can no longer ship to Canada because of some rather costly changes the US Postal Service has implemented.  You can get them from Quixotic Paperie in the UK - Elaine can ship world-wide.  Regardless, I still love these images - the set is called Oddly Sweet Curiosities and there are now 4 sets - complete with sentiment.  The lady I sent this card to is an extremely exhuberant woman - always laughing and following the beat of her own drum --- which she made herself actually at a drumming workshop!  She's that kind of woman and I just love her!

Baby Congratulations - Grandson

Seldom does my husband ask me to make a card for him so when he does, I have to think and try extra hard!  This card was for one of his former work colleagues who just became a grandmother.  The grandmother is a motorcycle enthusiast, so I figured this little Mo Manning Biker Baby would be perfect!  I hope she likes it.  John did and he even mailed it so I think that's a good sign!  Although between us, I think I was a tad heavy-handed on the sponging around the image!

Sympathy Card

My interest/obsession with Pinterest has lead me to many new ideas and beautiful cards -- This one was inspired by one I saw by Karen Aicken --- I made some very minor modifications, but on the whole it was her idea!  Thanks Karen - another woman I'll likely never meet!  I love the simplicity and elegance of this card and the butterfly, puched with my new Memory Box Die is beautiful I think!

Get well Soon Andre

As you may know, when one of our workplace colleagues gets sick, I make a card for my boss to send - which is always a bit challenging when I'm making one for him to send to another man!  Hence the wood-looking embossed background which I thought screamed man!  The turtle is very cute though, but Andre, the recipient is I think confident enough to be able to handle a cute turtle!  Besides the image is very sweet!

Materials:  Digital Image - sorry I can't remember - although the Image is called A Friend in Need and I note that under the bed the initials KJ are there (sorry!); SU: Embossing Folder; CS: SU: Spellbinder Dies; Sentiment: SU: Colour by Copic

Farewell Gaston - and good luck!

And, speaking of Gaston -- although we at work are all quite devastated that he's leaving us for greener pastures, we will miss him terribly.  He is great at his job and will be hard to replace - skill-wise, but even more importantly he is a great friend, adviser, confidant and just a great guy to have in your corner.  His job is pretty much IT and Finance both of which he excels at so his new organization is very lucky to get him.  I thought this image kind of looked like Gaston - from the back -- with the dual monitors; a few computers; wires and gadgets galore.  Ah, I will miss him!
