Congratulation on your new grandson!

I seem to be at the time of life now when most of my contemporaries are becoming grandparents -- it doesn't seem that long ago that my contemporaries were the parents - such is the circle of life! This card is for one of my colleagues --- it's one of the cards I make for my boss to send to staff who experience a life event - and becoming a grandparent for the first time (and subsequent times) is a  highlight of life.  Need I say more!

Happy Birthday Brian 2012

My daughter Sarah's in-laws are very nice people, and we have become quite close over the years.  Brian will be 65 this year, so I understand they're having a small family bash for him.  I found this inspiration (almost exactly) in Papercarfts Inspiration magazine which I purchased on-line -- love it!  What's even handier is their free downloads -- this is one of them.  Actually 2 of them because the sentiment in the circle is theirs too!
Materials: Digital Image  Papercraft Inspirations; Sizzix impressions folder; Cricut American Alphabet for the word Party.  Very easy card to make!

Cathie - Motorcycle Mama 2012

Cathie in my office will become a grandmother in a few months, but that's not slowing her down much!  She and her husband a couple of years ago got themselves each Harley's and now her vacations revolve around bike trips --- hopefully she can fit grandchild visits in!  I got this image quite a while back, in anticipation of Cathie's birthday because other than the long hair, it kind of exemplifies her!

Carey's Birthday 2012

My friend Carey has had a rough year so far this year, what with her Mom dying a couple of weeks ago; staff problems; and god knows what else --- so for her birthday, I thought a clown might work.  It's the same one I used last year for Maria - although I'm pretty sure the layout, etc. is different.  Mo Manning does an amazing job on her images and usually has exactly what I'm looking for to convey a message!  Now if only I could take a straight picture of my cards I'd be laughing too!

Sweet Em's 6th Birthday

Where or where does the time go --- now my little Emily's 6 on the 9th!  When I asked her how she felt on her birthday she said "bigger"! Out of the mouths of babes.  Anyway, since Emily is now in dance class, I thought this Mo Manning digital image would be perfect for her -- I also added some extra bling and loads of pink because Emily is quite a girly-girl!  This time I didn't put money under anything on the front --- I stuffed some bills inside!  She's older now and has more expenses, so the ante has to go up too!  Although on receipt of the card I was advised that some money on the front is still expected!  Live and learn - for me that is.

Happy Birthday Chris 2012

In my family just because you divorce, doesn't mean you're out of the family -- which is good I think.  My sister's ex-husband Chris's birthday is March 5 -- he and John work at the same company and we socialize with him quite a bit. In fact, he's coming here for his birthday supper.  So, every year we send Chris a card.  This year I decided to use one of my not-so-used Unity Company stamps --- this turned out quite well I think!

Farewell Christina

One of the committees I'm on at work, which I actually like, is our provincial Workplace Wellness Committee.  We have been very lucky these past 3 or 4 years to have the skills of Christina DellaSpina as our coordinator.  She works like a Trojan, produces wonderful stuff and is a joy to work with.  Unfortunately, her contract ends on March 31, and with the financial constraints we are operating under, we (the organization) could not extend her contract and we're losing her.  Needless to say, we are not happy in the least, hence the rather sulky, unhappy, grumpy girl in the image.  I really like Christina, hence all the bling!  The card is a 5.5 x 8" one so the entire committee can sign it and wish Christina well.

Victoria Case - Happy Birthday Carol 2012

One of the women in our North Bay office shares a birthday with my husband John, so I never forget Carol's birthday either!  Carol loves to bake and cook, but since she works in an office, and since I've never used this particular image, thought I'd give it a whirl!  I kind of like it, but think I could have made her hair a bit darker -- and likely rhinestones or something may have jazzes it up a little, but .....
