Something New

I had originally done this image when I was part of the Crazy Challenge design team.  Alas, time constraints meant I had to drop out -- not that I'm not making cards anymore, but I just don't have time between the ones I already have to do for myself and being part of a design team.  The stamp was courtesy of  The Stamping Boutique and the challenge was Something New -- I had a lot of images to choose from when I was deciding what to do.  What's newer than a new baby, which is obviously what this baby dragon is.  This image, cleverly titled Dragon and Baby was fun and easy to colour!

NEW HOME

One of my husband's staff just moved into a new house and I suggested to John it would be a nice thing if he got Tammy and her husband a plant or something and a card congratulating them on their new home.  This gave me the opportunity of using one of Mo Manning's Tall House images!  I quite like how it turned out!

Happy Birthday Murray

Murray is one of the guys I work with, and since I quite like him, he gets a birthday card, etc. every year. I thought I had lost the stamp set for this image and was greatly relieved to find it so decided to use it for Murray.  He lives on a lake and loves to fish, so it should be appropriate!

Happy Birthday Mona

Mona at work and I share the same start date only she is ridiculously younger than I am -- 10 years younger to be exact!  Too bad for her because that means she has longer to work --- Good for her because she will likely outlast me!  Since I've started making cards, I have been giving Mona one every year on her birthday, and flatteringly, she has been keeping them all!

Baby Kaitlin

Our new baby Kaitlin Elena has arrived - August 3 - my Dad's birthday.  Katie is the new daughter of our daughter Sarah and her husband Steve.  Big sister Emily is very thrilled and will be a great sister - once Katie is old enough to do stuff!  I took this opportunity to make each of the girls a card - one to welcome Katie into the family, one to congratulate the big sister Emily and one to Sarah, my dear daughter.  Ah, life is good!

New Baby at the PCC

As you know, I frequently make cards for my boss to send to staff members who have had a significant event in their lives.  One of the staff at our claims centre has recently had a new baby girl - one month early, but of a good size and doing well.  Doing this cards also gives me a chance to use some of my newer stamps so it's a bonus for me too!

Back to School

It's a momentous year this year for school --- Nicholas enters Grade 1; Emily enters Senior Kindergarten!  Too bad I don't get to see them actually go to school as I'm too far away, but maybe someday when I retire or something.  I've been waiting to use these cute little Lili of the Valley stamps for just this occasion and am quite happy with how they turned out!

Livia's Birthday

I am extremely fortunate to have friends and colleagues from all over the world --- fortunate because it makes life more interesting and fortunate because I can use a lot of cute images that otherwise I'd be wondering what to do with.  Such is the case with this lovely Magnolia Chinese girl stamp.  She is so pretty it would be a shame not to use her!

Embossing - Crazy Challenge #79

This is my card for the Crazy Challenge this week - Embossing.  Our sponsor this week is Digi Doodles and I must say that I am quite liking using digital images - especially with this one because it was quite easy to print off another image after I blew the first one with clouds that looked menacing, rather than fluffy!

Happy Birthday Barb

My dear friend Barb's birthday is on September 10 -- and, as I said in a previous posting, I'm working away feverishly in getting my cards done for the year so I can start on my Christmas Cards.  I'm cursed with a conscience that figures -- if I've spent all this freaking money on stamps, inks, etc. then I'd better use them - hence the large number of cards I prepare --- but enough about me.  I've decided to enter this card into Paper Sundae's challenge this week - clouds and skies.  Luckily I bought a cloud template years ago from Stampin' Up, and it comes in very handy!

Please leave me a comment so I know I'm not the only one looking at my blog!  Feel free to look around as well!

The Sun is Out - Challenge #78

This week's sponsor for Challenge #78 at the Crazy Challenge is Digital Delights by Louby Loo - what a bunch of really cute images.  I looked around for a sun punch and couldn't find one, so use my SU star punch and a 1" circle punch - drew on a smiley face and called it a day!
