Thank you Victor

One of our new inspectors is a very nice young man who came originally from Poland, albeit as a young child.  We have little in common as he is quite young (30) single and madly in love with his girlfriend.  What we do have in common though is a love of food -- and with his heritage, he's got a lot of really good food to talk about!  Recently he went on a vacation to Poland, and when he came back he gave me a Polish Cookbook that he had bought for me in Warsaw -- the book weighs a ton so lugging it around couldn't have been easy!  I was so touched I definitely had to make him a card --- so the vegetables in the background signify the base of a lot of the recipes, and the cooking woman is me - shot through a very skinny lens, and with much longer hair!

Happy Father's Day

Well, finally I'm having a moment when I can actually post a card or two!  This card was for John who is a wonderful father to my two girls, and grampa and poppa to our grandchildren.  He also loves the House Mouse designs and he's a golfer, so what's not to love about this card!  And, he did love it ---

Read and Relax

One of my colleagues is off on sick leave for the next while -- neck problems -- and I can sympathize with that!  As you know, I make cards for my boss to send to staff in the region is they are sick, have something to celebrate or something to mourn.  This card if for Peter to send out.  It's a moderately lucrative business but if I were to charge by the hour, I'd have no customers as all because I'm a bit piddly!

Sew Stephanie

My girlfriend Stephanie who is quite a talented card maker has recently (within the past year or so) taken up sewing - and not surprisingly, she's very good at that too.  Hence my need to put lots of stuff on the card, including sewing.  Luckily I had bought those scissor brads so had them on hand, likewise those little button brads.  All in all, I'm happy with the way it turned out.  This is a birthday card so I put my birthday message on the inside!

Wedding Day

I should hire Susan to sell cards for me because she's very good at getting me customers!  This card is for a friend of hers to give to a friend who is getting married soon.  Her colours are pink and brown, and she wanted something pretty and girly.  So, I decided to step outside the usual wedding card and do one with one of my new Carmen Medlin images.  I'm quite happy with how it turned out --- the proof will be in the pudding though when I find out it it's okay with my customer!

Fight Susie!

My sister-in-law was recently diagnosed with breast cancer so I wanted to make a card that was more inspirational than sympathetic.  I thought this Kraftin' Kimmie image was perfect --- what more indicative of a fight than a boxer?  The inside contains that Emily Dickinson poem about hope.  I hope she likes the card, but more so, I hope her fight and recovery are successful!

Happy Birthday Jim

My brother-in-law's birthday is at the end of June, and this year he is quite lucky to be having a birthday period, after suffering a stroke on New Year's Eve Day -- I'm happy to report that he is coming along extremely well and you'd never know it by looking at him that he had ever been ill.  I chose this image because Jim likes to read, and I just think the little boy is soooo cute.  I've also included the inside as I tried to make the card look more newspapery!  I've also entered this card into Stamping Scrapping Challenge's masculine card challenge.

Anniversary Mice

My girlfriend Jenn and her husband celebrate their anniversary on June 9.  To know Jenn is to love her -- she's such a kind, spunky, friendly, uber-talented young woman...and because she's so great, I had to make sure her card was special as well.  So, I chose these little mice, which I just love - and went crazy with hearts.  I think that the hearts in green instead of the traditional red also look quite good.  Anyway, I won't be posting this until after I mail the card since Jenn is one of, if not my only, blog followers!
